Ruby Spencer's Whisky Year - Rochelle Bilow

A fresh start in the Scottish Highlands, a cozy village pub, and one very distracting local handyman.

Thirty-five-year-old food writer Ruby Spencer leaves New York behind for a year in the tiny Scottish village of Thistlecross, determined to finally write the cookbook she’s always dreamed of. Between cozy cottages, whisky tastings, pop-up suppers, and the colorful locals who quickly begin to feel like family, Ruby starts wondering whether her temporary escape might become something more.

Then there’s Brochan — the rugged local handyman who keeps finding reasons to stop by her cottage. What begins as easy friendship and flirtation slowly turns into something deeper, just as Ruby discovers that the village pub she’s fallen in love with may be in danger of disappearing.
